The Opportunity

Providence India is aimed at digitally enabling our vision of Health for a better world. Our global talent base plays a pivotal role in positioning Providence as a tech-led healthcare leader. We bring together deep healthcare domain skills and cutting-edge technologies to drive healthcare outcomes.  

The Director will Lead Product Development for Internal Systems at Providence and play an integral role in Healthcare Intelligence, leading a team of highly skilled team of professionals such as software engineers, principal architects, and user experience experts. Will be accountable for strengthening engineering capabilities in the region to cater to Providence and other partnering health systems.

Key Responsibilites

 

 Strategic:

  • Establish best-in-class engineering capability in partnership with leaders from across immediate workgroup and other Providence teams.
  • Develop a prioritized multi-year roadmap to achieve the aspirational future state and desired maturity for the capability.
  • Determine the investments necessary in terms of people and technology to achieve these objectives.
  • Bring in innovative mindset; Balance between the short-term and futuristic requirements. Stay well aligned with Industry trends
  • Drive a cohesive product / solution portfolio and ROI based prioritization.
  • Maximize benefits ; reduce cost; and decrease time-to-market through engineering excellence
  • Drive delivery excellence; be accountable for higher productivity and efficiency
  • Align existing cross organizational teams and initiatives under an innovative, common vision; strategy; and approach for the Providence enterprise.
  • Define and implement policies, processes, and procedures aligned with healthcare needs  
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external relevant partners to advance Providence capabilities and leadership position in healthcare and technology industries
  • Participate in Providence strategic planning and development in conjunction with other senior leaders.
  • Anticipate changing demands from the Providence organization / business environment and creatively realign objectives as needed to align with organizational strategic objectives.

 

Leadership:

  • Attract, retain, and develop world class engineering talent; Develop sound understanding of US Healthcare system
  • Promote and foster an organizational culture that is innovative, agile, flexible, and aligned to the mission and values of the organization
  • Identify and execute high priority strategies to meet the data and information needs of Providence executives and managers
  • Ensure data quality and security across the enterprise including external data
  • Lead a highly talented set of caregivers through complex transformations.
  • Be intent about growing talent and creating role successions.
  • Manage performance with respect to budget, objectives, and customer expectations as required to meet operational, quality, and mission goals. 
  • Develop and provide guidance for negotiations with preferred information technology vendor contracts.  Manage key vendor and partner relationships.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelors/ Masters in STEM / Healthcare areas of specialization
  • 12 + Years of hands-on experience in the Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing Engineering teams- hiring, building and managing.
  • Maturity to handle regional and global stakeholders across the hierarchy 
  • Ability to build complex models and analyses, handling large data sets
  • Experience in incubating, creating and successfully executing strategic plans with an ability to interact, influence and communicate at all levels of an organization.
  • Agility in managing shifting priorities would be critical for the success in this position
  • High visibility throughout the organization with an approachable, personal, charismatic, and optimistic demeanor
  • Detail oriented leader with a project management mindset with the ability to see the big picture and think strategically combined with a deep understanding of day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communicator with high emotional intelligence, that builds relationships and trust and collaborates with all stakeholders
  • Understands their role as a Talent Steward and has a successful track record of developing, coaching, and growing talent for Providence
