# Lead Network Engineer

## Organization Background

The Network Operations team is responsible for the management, operation, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the enterprise’s global network infrastructure. The team ensures highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient networking services that enable business operations across data centers, cloud, branch offices, and remote users.

## What will you be responsible for?

* Manage and operate enterprise-level network solutions including Routing & Switching, Firewalls, and SD-WAN infrastructure.
* Secure, monitor, operate, and troubleshoot enterprise networks.
* Troubleshoot network issues and ensure quick resolution of outages and performance degradations.
* Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
* Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring network uptime and reliability.
* Document network configurations, diagrams, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
* Work on incidents and provide timely resolution within SLA.
* Perform network OS upgrades on all network devices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
* Act as the technical lead and escalation point for complex network incidents and critical outages.
* Lead network infrastructure projects, technology refreshes, migrations, and enhancement initiatives.
* Drive continuous service improvement through automation, process optimization, and standardization.
* Design, review, and implement scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and network operations team members.
* Review network designs, configurations, and change requests to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Security, Cloud, Systems, Applications, and Service Management teams.
* Participate in capacity planning, network lifecycle management, and technology roadmap discussions.
* Ensure network compliance with organizational security, audit, and governance requirements.
* Evaluate emerging networking technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.
* Manage vendor relationships and provide technical oversight during implementation and support engagements.
* Support major incident management activities and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management processes.

## How would your day look like?

* Troubleshoot network issues reported through service management tools.
* Work on Service Requests/Change Requests and coordinate with end users for validation and testing.
* Participate in ITIL-based incident and change management processes.
* Document SOPs for day-to-day operations.
* Monitor network performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for service delivery and support.
* Monitor and analyze network performance using SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, or equivalent monitoring platforms.
* Lead technical bridge calls during critical incidents and coordinate resolution activities across multiple teams.
* Review and approve network changes, implementation plans, and rollback procedures.
* Conduct root cause analysis and prepare technical reports for recurring incidents.
* Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on troubleshooting and operational best practices.
* Participate in architecture reviews and strategic planning meetings.
* Identify opportunities for automation using scripting and network orchestration tools.
* Review network health, capacity, utilization trends, and recommend proactive improvements.
* Ensure operational documentation remains accurate, updated, and aligned with organizational standards.
* Collaborate with project teams to design, deploy, and transition new network services into operations.

## Who are we looking for?

### Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
* 7–10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking with strong expertise in Routing & Switching, Firewalls, and SD-WAN technologies.
* Experience managing and operating large-scale enterprise and multi-site global networks.
* Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
* Experience with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, ACLs, NAT, and network segmentation.
* Hands-on experience with SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco Viptela, Aruba Silver Peak, or equivalent.
* Experience with WAN technologies and VPN solutions.
* Strong understanding of network security fundamentals and segmentation strategies.
* Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, DNAC, or equivalent.
* Familiarity with scripting and automation technologies such as Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform, or similar tools.
* Experience with enterprise firewalls (Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.) is an added advantage.
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience leading technical teams, projects, or major infrastructure initiatives.
* Good communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
* Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments.
* Understanding of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and business continuity networking concepts.
* Experience supporting cloud networking technologies within Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud environments is preferred.
* Knowledge of Network Access Control (NAC), Zero Trust, SASE, and Secure Access technologies is desirable.
* Ability to work effectively with global teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

* CCNA (Routing and Switching)
* Aruba Accredited SD-WAN Professional (AASP) / Cisco ENSDWI
* CCNP Enterprise
* Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE or equivalent firewall certification
* Azure Network Engineer Associate
* ITIL Foundation Certification
