Lead Security Engineer
Cybersecurity at Providence is responsible for appropriately protecting all information relating to its caregivers and affiliates, as well as protecting its confidential business information (including information relating to its caregivers, affiliates, and patients)
What will you be responsible for?
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise firewall, WAF, and network security platforms.
- Lead upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of firewalls, proxies, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Architect and enforce security policies across hybrid and cloud-connected networks.
- Collaborate with vendors on escalations, bug fixes, and advanced feature enablement.
- Drive automation for rule deployments, configuration validation, and compliance enforcement.
- Identify security gaps and propose strategic improvements to strengthen resilience.
What would your work week look like?
- Work with Infrastructure teams to implement secure designs and validate deployments.
- Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations of new technologies and recommend adoption.
- Partner with architects and engineering peers to align security design with enterprise architecture.
- Document reference architectures, standards, and security baselines for tolls like firewalls, WAF, Web Proxy etc.
- Stay informed on new technologies (Zero Trust, SASE, TLS modernization) and integrate them into roadmaps.
Who are we looking for?
- Strong technical expertise in firewalls, WAF, VPN, IDS/IPS.
- Hands-on knowledge of network security design for hybrid/multi-cloud.
- Familiarity with multiple network security platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills with Infrastructure and Cloud teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE) preferred.
