How is this team contributing to vision of Providence?

The Service Integration Engineering team leads the development and standardization of new platforms, technologies, and services for our Epic Electronic Medical Record Infrastructure and Citrix Virtual Application and Desktop delivery teams. This encompasses deployments across both on-premises and a growing Azure cloud ecosystem. The solutions we develop and standardize are core in the delivery of many of our Clinical and Revenue Cycle applications. Our areas of focus include leading adoption of Cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) services, testing and exploring new platform standards, internal tool development, Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), We leverage our expertise in these areas to accelerate adoption in these areas across our broader Epic Infrastructure and Citrix/VDI teams.

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Review and provide recommendations for operational and strategic initiatives for application and desktop virtualization (VDI).
  • Responsible for identifying and solving technical issues related to the Citrix DaaS solution, which, in addition to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops can include OS level troubleshooting, webserver, database server, applications server, DNS, or other software issues.
  • Highly proficient with Virtual Apps & Desktop, Citrix Cloud, their respective obsolete versions, and infrastructure components including expertise in Azure Cloud.
  • Support, upgrade, and maintain the following components -
    • Citrix DaaS, Virtual Apps & Desktop, Citrix Storefront and NetScaler
    • Image management via Citrix PVS, MCS.
    • Profile Solutions including Citrix UPM, TS Profiles and FSLogix.
    • Citrix Monitoring via SCOM, Citrix Director, Azure Monitor and Control UP.
    • Citrix licensing, RDS Licensing, etc.
    • Infrastructure platforms including Storages, Compute and Network hosted on VMware and Azure.
  • Expertise on Microsoft Windows platforms, Active Directory, DNS and GPO.
  • Strong knowledge of Citrix ADC/NetScaler Secure Gateway, SSO, etc.
  • Advanced level knowledge on PowerShell scripting, automations, and self-healings.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and weekend support during major incidents and maintenance activities.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • 5-9 years of experience with Citrix/VMware/Microsoft Desktop and Application Virtualization technologies such as Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Must have delivery experience in leading large enterprise development projects with a product development background.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues required, to make decisions and perform complex problem-solving activities under pressure.
  • Must have understanding on Cloud Strategy, Infrastructure as a code.
  • Must have delivery experience in leading large enterprise development projects with a product development background.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of leveraging the power of data and metrics to drive behavior, process and priority decisions across the team and IS.
  • Start-up mindset: take ownership of assigned environments, operations, and initiatives, and look for ways to continually improve user experience.
  • Experience with Architecture Diagrams (HLD, LLD), documenting SOPs and Runbooks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
