We, at External Services, the healthcare consulting and services arm of Providence India, help build technology solutions that modernize and simplify each step of the healthcare delivery process. We do that by putting the patient and the provider at the center of everything we do using the most promising and practical ideas, combined with the experience and expertise from people from the healthcare industry. We are creating experiences that work for care facilities, their patients and move us ahead on our mission of “Health for a better world “

 

What will you be responsible for?

Technical

  • Liaising with technical and non-technical professionals to clarify requirements and understand the software’s implementation context.
  • Defining, reviewing, testing, and estimating your own deliverables, being proficient in an agile development environment including the use of stories, story pointing and sprint planning
  • Providing expertise in source control for moving changes from sub-production to production instances. At minimum, be very familiar with using Update Sets. Ideally, be able to transition Providence in the use of industry standard source control applications and the ServiceNow studio for change control.
  • Teaming with the implementation architect to develop Providence’s technical ServiceNow standards. Keeping up with new technologies provided on the ServiceNow platform and updating the standards to include their use (ie, Flow Designer and RPA).
  • Reviewing designs and providing direction to less senior ServiceNow Developers and external technical delivery resources to ensure adherence to Providence’s technical ServiceNow standards and roadmap.
  • Developing applications in accordance with the established architectural frameworks and never unnecessarily “recreating the wheel” outside of framework. Always be looking to utilize ServiceNow provided technology before building new.
  • Demonstrating a knowledge of ServiceNow instance security risk and mitigation best practices. Be familiar with the Instance Security Center and how to address identified compliance related issues. Be cognizant of development practices to ensure security compliance and can be proven secure by external security consultants.
  • Developing in depth knowledge, if not already familiar, to support and implement domain managed instances for separation of customer data
  • Building client, server-side scripts and be familiar with the appropriate use. This includes proven experience with developing business rules, utilization of Glide Server APIs and developing script components in UI pages.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow application development including building scoped applications, creating, and extending base tables, creating forms and building workflows, ideally within ServiceNow’s App Engine Studio
  • Configuring and branding ServiceNow’s portals for both internal and external ServiceNow customers. Providing clear guidance on configurations that won’t impact future upgradeability and maintainability.
  • Migrating instances through patch and major version upgrades. Familiarity with platform functionality through the San Diego release at minimum
  • Developing integrations via the Integration Hub and REST APIs and integrating with current capabilities via Flow Designer
  • Conducting unit testing of applications
  • Working with tools including Java Script, HTML/CSS, JSON, XML, Bootstrap, Angular JS, Jelly, REST webservice frameworks, API webservice frameworks, active directory federated services, SAML, oAuth, Public/Private key encryption framework, and Azure application and data hosting.
  • Driving the adoption of new toolsets
  • Independently reviewing and evaluating new frameworks and making recommendations to leadership regarding when to jump to (or ignore) newer technologies.
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues on the infrastructure, healthcare data interfacing, security, service desk and tier-1 support, and electronic health records (EHRs) teams.

Who are we looking for?

  • 6+ years in a full-time software engineering role on both back-end and front-end web applications, with 4+ years of ServiceNow development experience
  • Highly proficient in ServiceNow development practices, including JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular JS
  • Should carry current ServiceNow certifications for System Administrator (CSA) and Application Developer (CAD). Micro-Certifications in other areas including Integration Hub, Performance Analytics and Flow Designer highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in deploying projects in multiple product areas: IT Service Management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM)
  • Understanding of the systems development life cycle and source code control
  • Hands-on experience working with a relational database management system, such as MS SQL-Server
  • Proven experience independently producing development product in a team environment and assisting others in the same.
  • Demonstrated history of seeking appropriate senior or peer reviews to mitigate risk, accompanied by a track record of those reviews showing an ability to review one’s own work product, and that of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical counterparts.
  • History of complete adherence to risk mitigation and information security policies, including PHI handling, password handling, lifecycle stage containment and source code management processes
  • Able to work on multiple projects concurrently, task switching throughout your workday while maintaining task focus.
  • Able to interpret technical instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form.
  • Strong comprehension of the systems development life cycle and source code control
  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring less experienced team members.
