Job Title: Principal Engineer – Power Platform & Power BI

Location: [Hyderabad] Job Type: [Full-time] Department: IT Reports To: IT Manager

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal Engineer – Power Platform & Power BI to lead the design, development, and governance of Power Platform solutions and Power BI analytics within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting scalable solutions, implementing best practices, and driving innovation in data visualization, automation, and business intelligence. This role requires strong technical expertise, and a strategic approach to transforming business processes and data analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Develop and enforce governance, security, and compliance policies for Power Platform and Power BI usage across the organization.
  • Design and develop enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring scalability, performance optimization, and user experience enhancements.
  • Oversee data modeling, data transformation (ETL), and integration efforts with Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Develop reusable components, best practices, and frameworks to standardize Power Platform development and deployment processes.
  • Implement advanced analytics, AI, and automation strategies using Power BI, AI Builder, and Power Virtual Agents.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), Azure services, and third-party applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Power Platform and Power BI developers, fostering knowledge sharing and best practice adoption.
  • Monitor and optimize Power Platform and Power BI performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Stay updated with new Microsoft Power Platform features, industry trends, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5+ years specializing in Power Platform and Power BI solutions.
  • Expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, row-level security, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate (cloud and desktop flows), and Dataverse.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with Azure services, APIs, and enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
  • Deep understanding of governance, security, and compliance considerations for Power Platform and Power BI.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with AI and machine learning integrations in Power BI and Power Platform.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) for Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a DevOps environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-600: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert, PL-500: Power Automate RPA Developer, or DA-100/PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst.
