Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Engineering Program Manager (EPM/TPM) to lead enterprise-scale Data Engineering, Analytics, and Platform Modernization programs.
This role owns end-to-end program delivery for complex data initiatives spanning Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Power BI, and Streamlit-based data applications.The Program Manager partners closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Cloud, Security, Product, and Business stakeholders to drive predictable execution, manage cross-team dependencies, mitigate risk, and ensure delivery of scalable, reliable, and business-ready data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Stakeholder ManagementDrive end-to-end data engineering and analytics programs from planning through execution and closureEstablish program governance, operating cadence, dependency tracking, and executive decision forumsManage dependencies across data engineering, analytics, cloud platform, security, product, and business teamsOwn program plans, milestones, risks, issues, mitigations, and executive communicationsPrepare and present status, risks, metrics, and outcomes to senior and executive leadershipBalance platform reliability, scalability, cost, and data quality with engineering velocity and business priorities


Data Engineering & Platform Responsibilities

Lead delivery of modern data platform initiatives, including:Cloud-based data ingestion, transformation, and serving layersEnterprise data warehouse and lakehouse implementationsPlatform standardization and technical debt reductionPartner with engineering teams to deliver solutions using:Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration and ingestionDatabricks for large-scale data processing, transformations, and advanced analyticsAzure Synapse and/or Snowflake for enterprise data warehousingMicrosoft Fabric components where applicable (OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing)Ensure data pipelines are scalable, resilient, observable, and cost-efficientDrive adoption of data engineering best practices across testing, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, and lineage

Analytics, BI & Data Consumption

Drive Power BI platform and analytics enablement programs, including:Semantic models and dataset standardizationReport and dashboard performance optimizationCapacity planning, refresh reliability, and governancePartner with analytics and business teams to enable self-service BI and trusted reportingSupport development and rollout of data applications and analytical tools using StreamlitAct as a bridge between data producers and data consumers, ensuring usability, adoption, and measurable business impactDefine and track value realization metrics for analytics and BI initiatives

Migrations & Modernization

Lead legacy-to-cloud data platform migrations, including:On-prem or legacy data warehouses to Synapse / Snowflake / FabricLegacy ETL tools to ADF + Databricks based architecturesBI and reporting modernization to Power BIOwn migration planning, sequencing, parallel runs, cutover strategy, and decommissioningProactively identify and mitigate data correctness, performance, and business continuity risks during migrations

Cloud, Governance & Risk

Manage data programs in Azure-first and hybrid cloud environmentsPartner with security, privacy, and governance teams to ensure:Data access controls and role-based securityCompliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements (as applicable)Track and reduce data quality issues, pipeline failures, SLA breaches, and platform risksDrive closure of audit findings, operational gaps, and platform reliability issues

Required Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Program Management / Technical Program Management / Engineering Program ManagementStrong understanding of modern data engineering and analytics architecturesProven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platform programs

Hands-on familiarity with:Azure Data Factory (ADF)DatabricksAzure Synapse and/or SnowflakeMicrosoft Fabric (preferred)Power BIStrong grasp of data pipelines, ELT/ETL concepts, orchestration, and analytics consumption patternsExcellent stakeholder management and executive communication skillsExperience working with distributed, global engineering and analytics teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Experience with Streamlit or data application frameworksFamiliarity with data observability, lineage, and governance toolingCertifications such as PMP, SAFe, Azure Data / Analytics certifications
