Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced  ServiceNow ITOM Architect / Developer  to lead the design, architecture, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions with a strong focus on  IT Operations Management (ITOM) ,  CMDB ,  CSDM , and  Enterprise Architecture alignment . The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in ServiceNow ITOM modules such as  Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, and CMDB , along with strong understanding of  Common Service Data Model (CSDM) , which is ServiceNow’s standard framework for structuring CMDB data and relationships. This role requires the ability to translate business and enterprise architecture requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow platform solutions, while ensuring data quality, governance, and alignment across business services, application services, technical services, and underlying infrastructure. 
 Key Responsibilities

### ServiceNow ITOM Architecture & Solution Design

* Lead end-to-end architecture and technical solutioning for  ServiceNow ITOM  implementations across enterprise environments* Design and implement ITOM capabilities including:
  *  Discovery 
  *  Service Mapping 
  *  Event Management 
  *  Orchestration / Automation 
  *  Cloud / Hybrid Infrastructure visibility  
* Define scalable and secure platform architecture, integration patterns, MID Server strategy, and environment standards. CMDB & CSDM Leadership

* Architect and govern  CMDB implementations  aligned with  CSDM , ensuring correct CI classes, service models, and relationships are maintained for accurate reporting and operational effectiveness. CSDM provides prescriptive guidance on how configuration items and relationships should be structured in the CMDB.
* Drive CMDB health initiatives including:
  * Data model standardization
  * CI reconciliation
  * Identification and classification strategy
  * Data quality and governance
  * Service ownership mapping * Support transformation from legacy or customer-specific CMDB models into a  CSDM-compliant structure .

Enterprise Architecture Alignment

* Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Application teams to map business capabilities, applications, services, and technical components into ServiceNow. This alignment is a common objective of CSDM and CMDB best practice efforts. 
* Contribute to application portfolio visibility, service dependency modeling, technical standards, and roadmap planning using ServiceNow as a system of operational insight.* Ensure ServiceNow design supports broader enterprise architecture principles such as traceability, governance, lifecycle visibility, and impact analysis.
Development & Customization

* Develop and configure ServiceNow applications using:
  * JavaScript / Glide API
  * Business Rules
  * Script Includes
  * Client Scripts
  * UI Policies
  * Flow Designer
  * IntegrationHub
  * Workflows / Automation components 
* Build and optimize  Discovery patterns, probes, sensors, and integrations  for data ingestion from enterprise tools and cloud platforms. 
* Design and implement integrations with systems such as  AD, SCCM, monitoring tools, cloud platforms, HR systems, and ERP platforms  using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and other standard integration methods.
Governance, Leadership & Delivery

* Establish platform standards, design guardrails, and best practices for ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB architecture.* Mentor developers and engineers, perform code reviews, and provide technical leadership across delivery teams. 
* Engage with stakeholders to run workshops, clarify requirements, define solution roadmaps, and support implementation planning. 
* Support platform upgrades, performance optimization, security compliance, and release readiness.

## Required Skills & Experience

*  10–16 years of overall IT experience , with strong experience in ServiceNow development, architecture, and enterprise implementations. * Strong hands-on expertise in  ServiceNow ITOM  modules:
  * Discovery
  * Service Mapping
  * Event Management
  * CMDB
  * Orchestration / Automation * Deep understanding of  CSDM  and service modeling principles in ServiceNow. 
* Solid experience with  CMDB architecture , CI relationships, reconciliation, identification rules, and governance. * Experience aligning ServiceNow implementation with  Enterprise Architecture , business capability models, and application/service portfolios. 
* Strong development experience using  JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub , and standard ServiceNow customization techniques. * Experience in  hybrid/cloud environments  and enterprise integrations.
 * Strong stakeholder communication, technical leadership, and solution governance skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with  cloud platforms  such as AWS, Azure, or GCP in the context of Discovery, visibility, and service mapping.* Understanding of  ITIL / ITSM processes  and how CMDB/CSDM enable incident, problem, change, and service operations. * Exposure to  application portfolio management ,  technology standards , or  architecture repository integration .
* Experience in enterprise consulting, customer workshops, or presales / advisory engagements. 

Certifications (Preferred)

* ServiceNow  Certified System Administrator (CSA) 
* ServiceNow  Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM 
* ServiceNow  Certified Application Developer (CAD) 
* ServiceNow  Certified Technical Architect (CTA)  – highly preferred for architect-level roles.
