Job Title: Principal Service Operations Engineer

Experience: 10 years - 15 years | Job Type: Full-time | Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India

 

How is this team contributing to the vision of Providence

We are looking for a Principal Service Operations Engineer with strong knowledge in PACS imaging systems, DICOM standards, and enterprise PACS migration. This individual will act as a solution architect and guide the transition, ensuring a seamless transfer of imaging data with minimal downtime and reliable access for radiologists and physicists.

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • Solutions architecture for migration across multiple legacy systems into the new PACS platform.
  • Partners with PACS vendors, internal radiology, bio-med and end-user support teams to design and validate migration strategy, including data mapping, conversion, migration, validation, and testing.
  • Ensure adherence to DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards for interoperability.
  • Develop and execute validation plans to confirm performance, data integrity, security, and clinical usability post-migration/implementation.
  • Support upgrades, cutover planning and go-live readiness to minimize downtime & disruption.
  • Establish knowledge management artifacts - playbooks, runbooks, KB articles, etc.
  • Provide ongoing production support for issues, escalations and troubleshooting.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in PACS/enterprise imaging solutions
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or Equivalent.
  • Solution architecture for clinical applications, imaging archives and data storage.
  • Expertise in DICOM standards and radiology imaging workflows, imaging archives (VNA), and integration with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
  • Understanding security and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PHI, access control).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in global delivery models across U.S. and India teams.

 

What would your day look like?

Overseeing migration activities, troubleshooting escalations, collaborating with radiologists and providers to enhance workflows, and developing knowledge management resources. Guiding the team through the complexities of the PACS transition and ensuring compliance with agreed SLA and KPI standards.

 

Who are we looking for?

With over 10+ years of experience in PACS imaging and DICOM standards. Proven track record of leading large-scale PACS programs and strong knowledge of radiology workflows and EMR/EHR integration. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience working within a global delivery model.
