How is this team contributing to the vision of Providence?

Providence Health care analytics and engineering (HAE) focuses on creating the depth in engineering and analytics across the organization. We work to democratize health care data to empower the consumers to transform care delivery, care outcome and care experience. We focus on applying engineering fundamentals to create the technology needed for patients to have easy access to the health care services. We serve the organization as the analytics center of excellence by focusing on operational, equity and value-based care analytics.

 

 

What will you be responsible for?

  • End-to-end development and quality of solutions and services that delight caregivers and add strategic value to Providence.
  • Develop complete designs and test interfaces that solve classes of problems, enable integration across groups of components, improve reuse, and satisfy business, caregiver, engineering, and operational requirements.
  • Manage and improve the engineering process, manage risks, dependencies, and compromises, and integrate software into broader ecosystems and/or solutions and services.

 

What would your day look like?

  • Understand business and feature requirements.
  • Create design documents and architecture documents along with principal engineer and architects.
  • Lead the technical direction of your product through technical roadmaps and design reviews.      
  • Practice test-driven development and maintain standards for unit and integration testing in your areas of specialization.
  • Mentor other developers through code and design reviews.                               
  • Develop and code the features needed for the application.
  • Work in Agile mode and work on assigned user stories.
  • Code and develop features and fix bugs as identified.
  • Integrate with backend services and ensure data is handled well.
  • Actively involved in securing the app and looking at securing the service calls.
  • Write unit tests, ensuring code quality and code coverage.
  • Ensure code is always checked in and ensure source control standards are followed.

 

 Who are we looking for?

  • 10+ years’ experience as a part of a highly functional software development teams building world class products. Demonstrated ability to deliver complex features alone or with peers with minimal oversight.
  • 6+ years of full stack development experience using Python, React and other web technologies
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX standards and unit testing tools
  • Strong experience in application design principles
  • Support quality development practices and pursue new and better ways to build and deploy software
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems, demonstrate problem solving
  • Ability to effectively communicate and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in Agile/sprints in a global team setup
