Security Product Engineering team part of Cyber Pillar at Providence is responsible for building products/ solutions that helps Cyber Security team to protect all information relating to its caregivers and affiliates, as well as protecting its confidential business information. We focus on applying engineering fundamentals to create the technology needed to protect patients & their data. Improves cybersecurity effectiveness and resilience against goals. Centralized system for comprehensive logging and tracking of cybersecurity data that helps in driving critical decisions.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Software Development Engineer in Test Lead, you will build Manual & Automation frameworks, Functional, Performance, and Load tests for supporting projects.
What would your day look like?
As an SDET, you will:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Conduct in-depth performance testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure product reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define quality metrics and ensure adherence to them.
- Analyze test results, report bugs, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues.
- Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Ensure compatibility testing across multiple environments and platforms.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in testing practices and automation strategies.
- Understand functional requirements for the products and services, learn the depth of the healthcare domain, and validate and certify the products.
- Conduct SPA testing, including SEO and Lighthouse report generation.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to validate and manipulate data during testing.
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering.
- 4-6 years of experience in in software testing roles with expertise in automation and performance testing.
- Act as a final gatekeeper to define functional requirements quality criteria.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise within Test Automation and Quality Assurance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Manual Testing:
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect lifecycle.
- Expertise in functional, UI/UX, regression, and exploratory testing.
- Web & Mobile testing with responsive design.
- Hands-on experience with requirements analysis and test case creation.
- Automation Testing:
- Proficiency in automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, or Cypress.
- Strong programming skills in Python, or C#.
- Experience in writing and maintaining robust automation scripts for web, mobile, and API testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub actions & Azure DevOps.
- Performance Testing:
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
- Ability to design load, stress, and endurance testing scenarios.
- Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and identifying system bottlenecks.
- API Testing:
- Proficiency in tools like Postman, PyTest, Karate or RestAssured.
- Experience in validating RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML.
- Test Management and Reporting:
- Hands-on experience with test management tools like Azure Test Plans, Zephyr or any suite of tools for managing test cases, executing tests, and tracking test results within your software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in generating detailed bug reports and test coverage analysis.
Preferred Tools and Products:
- Testing Frameworks: Selenium, Appium, Cypress, PyTest, xUnit, RestAssured
- Performance Tools: Apache JMeter, Gatling, Locust.
- Version Control: Git, GitHub, Azure Repos.
- Build Tools: Maven, Gradle.
- CI/CD Tools: GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps.
- Cloud Platforms: Azure (Preferable), AWS, GCP
