How is this team contributing to vision of Providence?

 

The Cloud Engineering and Ops team drives cloud migrations, engineering and OnPrem hosting, compute, storage data protection, data engineering for the Technology, Engineering & Operations organization. We support OnPrem and Azure cloud infra running Windows, Linux VM’s and SQL, Oracle databases. Advocate information services, vulnerability management, Backup , sotrage, cybersecurity, Data engineering , Power Bi

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

Implementation/Administration:

Install, configure, and manage IBM Spectrum Protect/Plus server and clients.

Administer the Cohesity backup and recovery solution, which includes data protection, backup policies, and recovery operations.

Daily Monitoring, Reporting and Troubleshooting for entire backups estate.

Manage and maintain agreed SLAs for backup and recovery.

Define and manage storage devices, storage pools, and volumes.

Develop and implement data backup, archive, and space-management policies and schedules.

Perform initial performance tuning and ongoing optimization of the system.

Conduct problem determination and root cause analysis.

Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions.

Install and configure the Operations Center for centralized management.

Set up client-side deduplication, encryption, and compression to optimize storage.

Manage data replication and synchronization across different environments.

Document the SP and SPP environment and maintain operational procedures.

Develop and implement data backup and recovery strategies and procedures to safeguard critical information.

Experience supporting a storage infrastructure in Windows and Linux Server environments.

Experience with Cohesity clusters would be a huge plus.

Maintain documentation related to backup and storage processes, configurations, and procedures.

Generate reports to track backup success rates, storage usage, and other relevant metrics.

Troubleshoot issues related to backup and storage, resolve technical problems, and provide support to end-users as needed.

 

Disaster Recovery & Security:

Regularly schedule and perform backups of essential data to prevent data loss in case of system failures, disasters, or accidental deletions.

Test backup and recovery procedures to ensure they are effective and efficient.

Ensure the security of stored data through encryption, access controls, and user authentication.

Implement security best practices to protect data from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.

Define data retention policies and oversee the deletion or archiving of data as required by legal and regulatory requirements.

Create backup and retention policies within Cohesity to automate data protection tasks.

Integrate Cohesity with existing storage and virtualization systems to provide comprehensive data management and protection.

Working knowledge of Virtualization technologies and disaster recovery strategies.

Practical knowledge of SSL Certificates

Ensure that the backup and storage systems adhere to industry and regulatory compliance standards.

Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance.

 

What would your week look like?

 

As a Backup & Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of our data protection solutions using IBM Spectrum Protect(SP), Spectrum Protect Plus(SPP) & Defender (Cohesity). You will ensure the security and integrity of our data backups, archives, and recovery processes.

 

Who we are looking for?

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Proven experience with IBM Spectrum Protect/Plus & Cohesity.

Strong understanding of backup, archive, and storage concepts.

Experience with virtual environments, databases, and mail systems.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

 

Certifications:

 

IBM Certified Deployment Professional – Spectrum Protect V8.1.12 or higher is preferred.

Cohesity Data Protection Associate/Data Security Professional Certificate is preferred.
