Summary:

The Senior ServiceNow ITOM Developer is responsible for leading the development, configuration, and maintenance of ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) applications. This includes Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, and Agent Client Collector. The Senior ITOM Developer will work closely with the IT Service Management team and stakeholders to ensure that ITOM data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date, and effectively integrated with other ServiceNow and external systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, configuration, and management of ITOM schedules, credentials, patterns, probes, sensors, MID servers, event sources, connectors, service maps, and agents.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ITOM performance issues and errors.
  • Validate and reconcile ITOM data with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and other data sources.
  • Identify and resolve ITOM conflicts, duplicates, and orphaned records.
  • Implement and enforce ITOM best practices, standards, and policies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to ITOM users and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain ITOM documentation, reports, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with other ServiceNow administrators and developers to integrate ITOM with other ServiceNow applications and modules such as ITSM, ITAM, Security Operations, etc.
  • Use APIs and Integration Hub to connect ITOM with external systems such as monitoring tools, cloud platforms, automation tools, etc.
  • Stay updated on the latest ServiceNow ITOM features, enhancements, and updates.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior ITOM developers.
  • Lead code reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure high-quality deliverables.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a ServiceNow ITOM Developer or in a similar role.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - ITOM certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM architecture, components, and functionality.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, and Shell.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITSM, ITAM, and other ServiceNow applications and modules.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure and asset discovery tools such as SCCM.
  • Experience with IT event management and service mapping tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Agent Client Collector and agent deployment and configuration.
  • Experience with APIs and Integration Hub for data exchange and automation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
