 What will you be responsible for? • Ensure reporting databases are updated reliably from various data sources. • Draw upon expertise to work with members of Service Integration to ensure data sources and reports answer the questions they have. • Continually improve integration processes and transformations to help the team move from descriptive reporting to diagnostic and possibly predictive analytics • Provide expertise to more junior members of the team • Explain technical issues to caregivers outside of the reporting team • Check deliverable quality before sharing outside the team for your own or other team members’ work • Monitor processes and search for trends, such as increasing run time or increasing number of failures • Implement POC’s for newer technology solutions and implement various data engineering Solutions What would your day look like? Integration & Transformation Processes • Evaluate source data models and design transformations needed to make suitable for reporting or analytics • Create data aggregations suitable for working with Power BI • Recommend and implement storage solutions for new data sources • Read from and write to databases • Work with appropriate machine learning, statistical, or other libraries • Working with many data sources – APIs, files sources/data lakes, relational DBs • Prepare data for analysis – cleaning, standardizing, shaping Power BI • Create easy to understand visuals • Help define reporting visualization standards to provide a consistent look to Service Integration reports • Build Power BI data marts or data sources by subject area • Monitor Power BI workspaces for performance, refresh issues Agile development • Work closely with teams to determine business data reporting and analysis requirements • Grasp the business intent of requests and create quality user stories • Work within Azure Dev Ops to manage and complete user stories • Participate in Scrum ceremonies: daily stand up, sprint planning, and sprint retrospective Sr Manager BI Engg, Citrix BI, TEO Service Integration About Providence At Providence, we are grounded in our goal to serve all as we engineer the future of healthcare. Health is a human right Who are we looking for? Minimum 5 years experience with SQL Server, including: • Basics of data modeling for BI: star schema, cardinality, granularity • Joins, subqueries, and correlated nested queries. • T-SQL, basics of debugging, and how to read a query plan • Data loading techniques, such as Polybase and Create Table as Select • Indexing, storage options, distribution and partitioning techniques • Learning vendor data models and retrieving information effectively Minimum 3 years experience with Azure Data Factory, including • Creating pipelines with a balance between configuration complexity, ease of maintenance, and development time • Expertise with integration of ADF with repositories and continuous integration workflows • Designing processes to extendible and handle errors with minimal intervention • Diagnosing and addressing performance issues 3 years experience with each of the following preferred: • Analytics reporting requirements creation and implementation • Python – data analysis, data preparation, visualization • Power BI • Strong knowledge of DAX, working knowledge of Power Query (M) • Power BI Service workspace and application management • Data science basics – visualizing data, basic statistics, etc. Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and demonstrate problem solving Ability to effectively communicate and excellent interpersonal skills Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or IT
