How is this team contributing to the vision of Providence?

Population Health team focuses on value-based health care by providing timely and quality care for the population. Population Health Informatics team integrates member eligibility and claims data from payers, provider systems and third parties and loads this data into the Cloud Data Warehouse (CDW). This data is then consumed by external stakeholders and internal executive analytics team, for which on-time and accurate data availability is a critical aspect.

 What will you be responsible for?

A QA Engineer in Population Health Informatics group will have the following responsibilities:

  • Understand requirements, design specifications and convert them into test scripts.
  • Create and maintain manual and automated test strategy.
  • Build Test Plans, automate QA scripts to address areas such as database impacts, application functionality scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error, or bug retests in preparation for implementation to ensure application quality and release readiness of the important Population Health data.
  • Identify issues, analyze and perform root cause analysis to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Improve the quality of data in Population Health by building functional QA infrastructure and dashboards.
  • Logging and tracking defects, collaborate with developers, Service Engineers and Analysts in identifying and resolving the defects.
  • Partner with Global Engineering teams on shared goals and focus on the outcomes with a collaborative mindset
  • Work with speed in an Agile framework.

 What would your Work day look like?

  • Understand requirements, design specifications and convert them into test scripts.
  • Create and maintain manual and automated test strategy.
  • Build Test Plans, automate QA scripts to address areas such as database impacts, application functionality scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error, or bug retests in preparation for implementation to ensure application quality and release readiness of the important Population Health data.
  • Identify issues, analyze and perform root cause analysis to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Improve the quality of data in Population Health by building functional QA infrastructure.
  • Partner with core leader and team members for design discussions, code review and best practices implementation.
  • Partner with Global Engineering teams on shared goals and focus on the outcomes with a collaborative mindset.

  Who are we looking for? 

  • 3+ years of experience in manual and automated QA testing of large scale DB systems and ETL data pipelines
  • 3+ years of experience in writing medium to complex SQL queries and good understanding of RDBMS
  • 3+ years of experience on ETL, Automation and DB testing
  • Strong analysis and debugging skills
  • Exposure to version control tools like GIT, SVN
  • Good to have experience on Python and control flows
  • Knowledge on Cloud Platforms like Azure and Snowflake
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in Healthcare Industry
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
