We are seeking a Level 2 Network Engineer with Data Center / Cloud Operational expirience  with 5–7 years  to support, operate, and troubleshoot enterprise data center environments. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, incident resolution, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of large-scale data center networks built on modern architectures such as VXLAN, Spine-Leaf, ACI, and Nexus platforms in high sensitivity Health Care systems


Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2 operational support for enterprise data center networks across production and DR environments.
• Manage and monitor data center fabric built on Spine-Leaf architecture, VXLAN, and EVPN technologies.
• Operate and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus (N7K/N9K), vPC (Virtual Port Channel), and ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) environments.
• Monitor network health, fabric stability, and performance using Cisco Nexus Dashboard, DNAC (if applicable), and other monitoring tools.
• Troubleshoot issues related to overlay (VXLAN), underlay routing (BGP/OSPF), vPC consistency, and fabric connectivity.
• Support configuration and maintenance of VLANs, VRFs, port channels, vPC domains, and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching.
• Assist in fabric expansion, leaf/spine onboarding, VTEP configuration, and multi-site/DCI connectivity.
• Perform software upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities for Nexus switches and ACI fabrics.
• Work on ACI tenant configurations, contracts, EPGs, bridge domains, and policies (where applicable).
• Support and troubleshoot multicast, QoS, and high availability features within the data center.
• Participate in incident management, problem management, and RCA activities with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with Server, Virtualization, Security, Storage, and Cloud teams for seamless service delivery.
• Follow standard operating procedures, configuration templates, and compliance guidelines.
• Participate in on-call support and maintenance windows as required.

• Familiarity with Data Center Edge and AGG Routing

• Incident Management, Change Management familiarity for Smooth Data Center Operations.

• Familiarity to understand on-call procedures and respond both reactively and proactively

• Familarity of sensitivity of Health care systems and related IT Operations


What Would Your Day Look Like?

• Review dashboards for fabric health, VXLAN tunnels, and Nexus/ACI alerts.
• Troubleshoot incidents related to data center connectivity, overlay/underlay issues, vPC mismatches, and application reachability.
• Perform configuration changes such as VLAN provisioning, port configuration, vPC setup, and ACI policy updates.
• Support new server onboarding, rack/stack connectivity, and leaf switch provisioning.
• Assist in data center migration, expansion, or refresh activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and deployments.
• Document incidents, changes, and provide inputs for RCA.
• Contribute to improving network stability, automation, and operational efficiency.

• Perform incident management, restore services within SLA, and document RCA for recurring issues

• Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds/ServiceNow and act on alerts proactively

• On-Call work procedures in Day to Day Operations

 


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering / Technology.
• 5–7 years of experience in data center networking and operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus switches (N5K/N7K/N9K).
• Solid understanding of Spine-Leaf architecture, VXLAN, EVPN, and data center overlays.
• Experience in vPC configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Hands-on exposure to Cisco ACI (basic to intermediate level).
• Familiarity with underlay routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and IP networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Nexus Dashboard, monitoring tools, and network visibility platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Layer 2, Layer 3, and overlay networks.
• Knowledge of high availability, redundancy, and failover mechanisms.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/change management.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and maintenance activities.


Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-site ACI, DCI (Data Center Interconnect), or hybrid cloud integration.
• Exposure to network automation tools (Python, Ansible, or REST APIs).
• Knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, and security integrations in DC environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and their networking requirements.
• Certifications such as CCNP Data Center, CCIE DC, or Cisco ACI certifications.
• Experience working in large enterprise or service provider data center environments.

• Azure and Cloud Integration Knowledge or Any Hybrid Cloud Experience
