Job Description – Network Security Engineer 

Location: Hyderabad, India (PGC) / Hybrid

Experience: 2–5 Years

Role Summary

The Network Security Engineer – Zscaler will support the implementation, configuration, and operational management of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) solutions. The role works closely with senior engineers to deliver secure internet access and zero‑trust private application connectivity across on‑premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and configuration of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) including Secure Web Gateway (SWG), URL filtering, SSL inspection, and basic firewall policies.
  • Assist with Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) setup including application segmentation, connector validation, and access policy configuration.
  • Support user and application onboarding to ZIA and ZPA platforms.
  • Participate in migration initiatives from legacy VPN solutions to Zscaler ZPA.
  • Perform day‑to‑day operations of ZIA and ZPA services including monitoring and incident support.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to internet access, private application access, DNS, authentication, and endpoint connectivity.
  • Raise, track, and coordinate Zscaler support tickets with vendors and internal teams.
  • Assist with integration of Zscaler platforms with Identity Providers such as Entra ID / Azure AD for SSO.
  • Support SOC teams by providing Zscaler logs and operational inputs for incident analysis.
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and configuration documentation.
  • Follow ITIL‑based incident, change, and problem management processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, or security operations roles.
  • Hands‑on or working knowledge of Zscaler ZIA and/or ZPA.
  • Basic understanding of Zero Trust, Secure Web Gateway (SWG), proxy, and remote access concepts.
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and application traffic flows.
  • Exposure to hybrid enterprise environments (on‑prem + cloud).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
